Very rare and fantastic, original, 1903 Western Americana Chromolithograph four page Chicago & Alton Railway Company Advertising Calendar featuring outstanding images of beautiful, young Cowgirls. This wonderful Calendar measures approx. 10" by 15" and contains four, chromolithograph pages printed on a light weight, card stock. Each of the four pages features a unique and wonderful Image of a beautiful Cowgirl wearing buckskin skirt, wide brimmed hat and gun belt and revolver. In one of the Images the Cowgirl is confronting a “situation“ across a poker table, in another she is throwing a lasso, in a third she is drawing her six-gun and on the cover sheet she is simply looking charming and beautiful!! Surrounding each of the stunningly beautiful chromolithograph images that dominate each page, there are line drawings of cowboys and verious western “scenes”. The Calendar is titled “The Cow-Boy Girl” and sub-titled “The Only Way”. It is copyright 1903 by the Chicago & Alton Railway Company who issued the calendar in conjunction with the 1903 Louisiana Purchase Exposition / St. Louis World‘s Fair. The back side of each of the pages feature very attractive line illustrations related to the Chicago & Alton Railway Co. and the St. Louis World‘s Fair (see the scans below)
. The chromolithographed images on each of the Calendar Pages are of the very highest quality - the colors are rich and warm and the artistry simply stunning. Amazingly, none of the Images are signed by the lithographer. This exceptionally rare and wonderful, Western Americana Cowgirl Calendar is in good condition - complete with all four pages present but lacking the silk ribbon that originally bound the pages together through factory holes at the top edge.
The Calendar pages are printed on a rather delicate light weight card stock and each page has some edge wear which can be seen in the scans below. Overall this is one of the nicest collections of Chromolithograph Cowgirl Image was have come across !! An exceptionally rare and fantastic, original 1903 Western Americana Chromolithograph four page Chicago & Alton Railway Company Advertising Calendar featuring outstanding images of beautiful, young Cowgirls and a fantastic addition to any collection
