    Description

    SUPER IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
!!! 10 (TEN) BUSINESS DAYS HANDLING FROM THE USA !!! (not counting weekends and/or holidays)
If this doesn't work for you kindly DO NOT PURCHASE.
Unfortunately, I cannot change this policy. It has nothing to do with laziness or unwillingness to ship earlier but it is the way my business is currently set up during Cov*d.
You will see a tracking number generated - but the item will only track in 7-10 business days.
Earrings will be sent with signature confirmation (and insured of course). NO EXCEPTIONS.
Do me a favor please and READ THE ENTIRE description -
always. I do my darn best. I attach many detailed pictures, inside, outside, sideways, etc. on my hand, with a coin, with the scale, with the measuring tape etc. All gold is tested, all information imparted is factual. I don't sugar coat anything, I don't change or enlarge pictures but tell it how it is.
Do NOT leave undeserved feedback because YOU
glanced over the details or imagined something different (too big, too small, too heavy, too light, not what I expected etc.) It's LITERALLY all in the description.
I am ALWAYS ready to answer any and all questions, take more pictures or help you with your decision in any way I can.
    ONLY REASONABLE OFFERS PLEASE
    - DON'T BE RUDE BY OFFERING HALF OF THE LIST PRICE ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A DEALER IN THE UK!
You know better. I am a serious jewelry collector and seller not the bargain bin. I would never price my items in such a way that I would have a need to discount them by 50%. Check on rubyl*ne or firstd*bs how similar earrings are priced and for how much some have sold in the past.

Alloys with a higher gold content will have a color that is more saturated and yellow. In contrast, lower-karat alloys will look paler in comparison.
Compared with 9K pieces, 18K and up jewelry tends to have a richer color.
Very old (early 1800s) Georgian era drop dangle earrings with flat cut garnets
    Earrings are for
    pierced
    ears only
They have a fish hook /
    French
wire / shepherd hook closures (all the same just different names)
    -
    Era:
    approx
    .
The Georgian era is a period in British history from
    1714 to c. 1830–37,
named after the Hanoverian Kings George I, George II, George III and George IV.
    -
    Origin:
Earrings were purchased approx. 10 years ago at Grays Antiques in London
    -
    Material:
Rose gold - acid tested for 14k gold
No hallmarks (stamps) which is very customary for jewelry this old.
    Jewelry
that was made before 1900 may
    not have
    a gold
    mark
    , and
    jewelry
that was made by an artist or independent
    jewelry
    designer may not be stamped)
    - Closed back rose gold mounts (see pictures) with crimped edges
    -
    Stones:
Flat cut garnets (large - see measurements)
    I believe the stones are
    foil-backed
as were most earrings during the Georgian era. Earrings were meant to be worn in candlelight, before the dawn of electricity. Foiling (a process of applying metal inserts, or metal coating to the back of the stones), brings these garnets to life and lends them a wonderful glassy appearance
    - the large stones are deep red and have a tear drop shape
    - the smaller round stones are lighter in color (more pink-ish) and
are (much) lighter colored garnets (I double checked - I wasn't sure at first thinking they might be tourmaline)
    -
    Colors:
Variations of red colors and rose gold (FYI -
    (
not limited to these colors just a sample).
Pictures were taken in broad day light on a very sunny day with an Iphon*. Colors
    might
    display differently on your screen.
    The sun brightens every picture.
No alterations were made, no enhancements, no photo shop, no filters were used.
    A word about colors:
I DECLINE ANY AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY as to how colors display on your screen or how you might perceive them. There is quite simply no winning.
SOLD AS PICTURED AND AS IS

    large tear
    drop stones measure

2.29 centimeters long (at their longest) or 0.9 inches
    at their widest they measure
    approx.

    small round stones measure
    approx.
0.64 centimeters in diameter (across) or 0.25 inches
    - Weight
    approx.
6.2 grams (combined weight i.e. both earrings together weigh 6.2 grams) - I know the scale says 6.5 gr but I weighed them several times at 6.2 seems to be the correct weight)
    Weight and measurements are
approximate and taken to the best of my abilities.
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF G_D (or whatever is holy to you):
(and I am not exaggerating this happens OVER AND OVER AND OVER:
    YOU, the bidder, '
    FORGETTING'
TO READ the measurements cannot and is NOT my fault but
YOURS. (most definitely it is NOT a reason for a return).
If you do not know what 2 cm or 0.79 inches look like (although I show the item in my hand, next to a coin and ON THE MEASURING TAPE) then I urge you to take out a measuring tape and check for yourself.
    PLEASE CHECK THE EARRINGS
    FOR SCALE
(SIZE) next to an US quarter coin, with the measuring tape (in inches), on my fingers and hands (I am female). Compare the measurements and the weight to a charm you own.
I really cannot do better than this.
It cannot be my fault if you don't read the entire description. Ask any and all questions BEFORE bidding.

This said - It is humanly IMPOSSIBLE for me to cover every little flaw, speck or perceived imperfection. Pictures are part of the description.
Condition commensurate with usage and wear (200 years old) Dings, wear, etc. are perfectly normal for this age.
    As mentioned:
    Top smaller round stones
    are
lighter colored garnets (I previously thought they might be tourmalines). They have a slight pink-ish hue - please see pictures.
Large tear drop garnet stones don't appear to have chips
Several areas have soldering marks (or rubs) (see pictures) especially around the collet
    Please understand:
These earrings are collector's items. A rare find more than 200 years old. they are gorgeous BUT THEY ARE ANTIQUES.
