If your turntable is not auto starting or the tone arm doesn’t return when the record is finished then your spindle gear is cracked, loose and needs replaced. The original replacement spindle gear SFTJ202-01E has not been available from Technics for many years. Now a new reproduction spindle gear will bring that classic Technics SL-B2 or SL-B3 turntable back to life again. Look at the pictures to see the old original cracked gear and the new gear.  You need to remove the platter on your turntable to see the spindle gear.
