Description and Item Information
Up for sale is this vintage woodblock print on paper by the well-known Japanese artist, Hiroshi Yoshida. Please excuse any glare in the photos. The scene depicted is Kagurazaka Street in Tokyo, after a night rain. The print is not matted or framed. The image area measures approximately 14 3/4 inches by 9 5/8 inches. The paper measures approximately 15 5/8 inches by 10 9/16 inches. This would be a lovely addition to a collection of Japanese works of art on paper.
Identification
This print is entitled, "Kagurazaka Dori" by Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950). There are both pencil written markings and printed calligraphy markings. The exact age of this vintage print is not known. It is from Yoshida's series, Twelve Scenes of Tokyo.
Condition
This unframed print looks good overall, as shown. There is minor toning. The colors are rich. There are no tears. The paper has minor rippling. To the back side edges and corners, there are minor tape residue areas from previous framing. There are a few small thin paper areas / losses to the back side from tape removal. There are some dark marks in the margins which look like ink, as made. Two of the sides have edges which are somewhat irregular, as made. 1. Payments
Taxes may be applicable. The correct shipping address must be included with payment. Contact the seller before bidding or buying to find out about acceptable payment methods for local pickups or deliveries. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made.
2. Shipping
Good packaging is included; double-boxing is not necessarily included. Framed art will not be shipped unframed. The seller usually ships on Mondays and Thursdays. The merchandise will normally be shipped on the seller's next shipping day after payment clears. The seller is not responsible for the transit time once the merchandise has been accepted by the shipping carrier.
Shipping includes delivery to a physical address via a method of the seller's choice. If the buyer prefers a different shipping method other than that chosen by the seller, or if delivery is to a post office box, additional shipping costs may be required. At the seller's discretion, a signature may be required for delivery.
Shipping quotes must be requested prior to all international bidding or buying. For international shipping, there may be parcel size restrictions or prohibitions on certain classes of merchandise. Customs forms will not be falsified.
International buyers, please note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
